Beyond the policies - keeping the spirit of Bump safe

Updated over 3 months ago

We want Bump to be a positive and safe space for everyone. Sometimes we encounter issues that aren't specifically listed in our policies but still affect user safety and experience.

What this covers

This applies across the entire app and addresses new or unforeseen behaviors that may emerge as technology and social interactions evolve.

What we remove

  • harmful content not specifically listed in other policies

  • new types of misuse that undermine safety

  • behaviors that clearly go against the spirit of Bump

  • emerging patterns that negatively impact user experience

  • unforeseen technical exploits

This list isn't exhaustive. If something could harm users or the Bump community, we'll take action even if it's not explicitly covered elsewhere.

How we take action

  1. We evaluate new issues based on similar reasoning to our existing policies

  2. We update our public guidance to keep everyone informed

  3. We remove content

  4. We may limit features like chat or visibility

  5. We may temporarily or permanently suspend an account

  6. We may escalate credible threats to appropriate authorities

How to report

If you see content that violates this policy, you can report it directly in the app. We review all reports and take appropriate action to keep Bump safe for everyone.
