Ghost mode lets you quietly pause live location sharing with a specific friend, without turning off location for everyone.
They’ll still see the last location you shared with them, but they won’t receive real-time updates until you turn ghost mode off. Unlike turning off location sharing entirely, Ghost Mode works one-on-one. You can stay visible to some friends while hiding from others.
How to turn on Ghost Mode
Tap your friend’s pin on the map to open their info view
Tap the ghost icon in the top-right corner 👻
Tap the Bump option to stop sharing your location
📝 While in ghost mode your pin will stay frozen at the last known location you shared with that friend. They won’t be notified that you’ve ghosted them.
How to turn off Ghost Mode
Tap your friend’s pin again
Tap the ghost icon (which will now be highlighted)
Tap the Bump option to start sharing your location again

Friends are not notified when you ghost or un-ghost them.
Selective sharing
You can ghost multiple friends at once.
📝 Ghost Mode only affects what your friend sees. It doesn’t pause tracking for your own scratch map or nights.
