If Bump had a yearbook, this is where you’d show up.
Think of Schools as Bump’s campus community. It’s a way to make your profile feel a little more “where you’re from,” and to help you run into the right people in the right places. Since location is sensitive, keep it cozy, and add the people you actually know. Not the entire campus!
You can only be part of one school at a time. To switch schools, leave your current one first, then join the new one.
How to join
There are three ways to join a school on Bump:
Search for it on the map
Open the main map and use the search feature
Find your school in the results
Tap on it and follow the prompts to join
Visit the campus
When you get a visit at a school, you'll see the option to join after adding it to your places.
Use an invite link
Open the invite link someone sends you
Follow the prompts to join the school
Unlocking schools
Some schools stay locked until at least 10 students join. To help reach that number:
Share your school’s invite link with friends and classmates
Once enough people sign up, your school unlocks and becomes fully visible and searchable 🎉 Learn more about unlocking schools.
What happens after you join
Once you’re in, you’ll automatically:
get a school badge on your profile
see your school pinned on your map
appear in the student directory on the school page
discover classmates already using Bump on campus
How to leave a school
If you've joined the wrong school or just want to leave your current one, here's how you can do it in a few quick steps:
Open the Bump app and go to your Profile
Tap on your school name under your profile info
This will open the school page
Tap the settings icon ⚙️ in the top-left corner
Select "Leave school"
That’s it! You’ll be removed from the school, and your profile will no longer show up in the school directory 💛
