Wondering what your friends are really up to? POV lets you ask for the proof. They reply with a moment (a photo or video captured in app). Then you can rebound with your own POV, and keep the moment going.
What's a POV?
A POV is a request to see a friend's live point of view. When you send one, your friend has 2 hours to reply with a photo or video taken in app (no uploading from their library). Replies disappear after 24 hours unless saved.
Send a POV
Focus on a friend on the map, or open a chat with a friend or group
Tap the POV button.
Wait for their moment (we'll let you know).
A few things to know:
You can have one active POV per chat. Until it's answered or 2 hours pass, the button is disabled.
In group chats, everyone who's in the group when you send a POV request can reply.
You can delete a POV you sent, but you'll still need to wait out the 2-hour timer before sending a new one in that chat.
Reply to a POV
When a friend asks for your POV, you have 2 hours to reply.
Tap the request in the chat, in your inbox, or on your friend's map marker.
Take a photo, or hold the capture button to record a video.
Add text or adjust your location detail if you like.
Send it! You also have the option to share it to other chats.
Camera tips:
Double tap to switch cameras
Pinch to zoom
Press the volume button to capture
Your reply shows where it was taken. Tap the location label to choose how precise it is: place, neighborhood, or city.
The first time you reply, you'll be asked to allow camera and microphone access. Both are needed to use the POV camera. If you denied access before, you can provide it in your device settings.
View a reply and rebound
Tap a new reply to open it. You have 24 hours from when it was sent to view it. After that, you can open it one last time, but you won't be able to rebound.
You can send one rebound per reply, and have 24 hours to use it. Your friend can then rebound on your reply, keeping the moment going 🚀
Save a reply
Tap the save button in the viewer to keep a reply. It stays in the chat, no longer expires, and is added to your photo library. The sender gets a notification when you save. Tap again to unsave it.
In group chats, saving is shared: if anyone saves a reply, it's saved for everyone, and unsaving works the same way.
